MR2 : Manual Rotary Microtome

For routine work, the MR2 and its motorized advance partner, the MR3 are available, both frequently being used for histology and materials preparation. Both rotary microtomes feature a rapid trim function, positive mechanical lock on the hand wheel, specimen orientation and rotation, plus a digital section counter display on the front panel. Available with High/Low Profile Disposable Steel Blade Holder and Specimen Holder (choice of Cassette Clamp or Fixed Jaw Vise Clamp) - MR 2 supplied with single footswitch control for trim function.

Preset trim setting for fast block trimming.

MT990 : Rotary Microtome

MT990 rotary microtome features a motorized, programmable, automatic trim providing a reproducible, consistent cutting speed. With an accelerated return stroke and adjustable cutting zone, the MT990 effortlessly cuts paraffin, plastic, and hard specimens. The advantages of the motor drive can also be used to reduce the strain of repetitive, high output histology sectioning. Optional Binocular Microscope Accessory with Backlighting Accessory. Optional cryo attachment (CR1000) permits sectioning from +40°C to -160°C.

MT990 with CR1000 : Rotary Microtome with Cryo Attachment

In conjunction with the CR1000, the MT990 becomes the world’s only cryo microtome for light microscopy, capable of preparing large area rubber, polymer and biological samples. Ideal tool for cryosectioning polymers, rubbers, and films for optical and FTIR transmission microscopy, as well as cryo-planing sample surfaces for AFM and SEM. Diamond and glass knives can be placed in the rotatable knife holder. The CR1000 is equipped with independent temperature controls of the knife and specimen.
